The Journey, Day by Day
- Day 1
Cusco to Wayllabamba Valley
Early departure to km 82 in Piscacucho. A gentle first day along the Urubamba River with views of Llactapata ruins. Camp in Wayllabamba.
- Day 2
Warmiwañusca Pass
The big day: climb to the highest point of the trek at 4,215 m. Descend to Pacaymayo Valley to sleep under the stars.
- Day 3
Runkurakay, Phuyupatamarca & Wiñay Wayna
The most beautiful day: three archaeological complexes set among cloud forests and ancient staircases, ending at the terraces of Wiñay Wayna.
- Day 4
The Sun Gate & Machu Picchu
Early hike to Inti Punku for a sunrise over the citadel. Guided tour and return to Cusco by train through the valley.
